About Nikki Griffin
Nikki Griffin lives in Oakland, California, and she is a second-hand bookstore owner named The Brimstone Magpie. But after her regular selling job is done, at night she is also a kickass PI who is not afraid of danger. She is known as a fixer. Her interesting and very heartbreaking past makes her what she is today – an emotionally abused woman who is now quite disturbed psychologically, but who doesn’t let that get in her way. In fact, she draws strength from what she went through back in the day to do her regular job. Based on her very past, she now loves going after men who hurt those they claim they love, making sure that they get what they deserve and never hurt abused women again.
No kickass heroine is without her motorbike, and Nikki is no different. She loves riding her Aprilia bike, which holds some dubious items that she keeps at hand, ready to use while working her dangerous cases, which range from surveillance of partners that are cheating to way more dangerous than that.
Like her very new case where Gregg Gunn, her new client, entrusted her with in the first Nikki Griffin book, Save Me From Dangerous Men. The CEO of Care4, a surveillance baby monitor high-tech company, Gregg is afraid that one of his employees, Karen Li, is, in fact, a corporate spy.
Gregg asks Nikki to keep tabs on Karen to catch her in the act if his suspicions are true. While Nikki follows Karen around, she notices her being constantly terrified while meeting seemingly dangerous men. When something happens that Nikki has to break cover, she realizes that Karen’s situation is way worse than she initially thought, and now her own investigation becomes deadly.
To wade through the complex scenario presented in front of her, she asks other investigators for help. One is an ex-journalist, another a biker enthusiast, while another is an actual colleague of Karen’s. These are all Nikki’s friends who are ready to help.
Some people compared Nikki Griffin to Jack Reacher. Having read the first book, I don’t see a very strong similarity (and I’m not talking about gender here), although both are strong characters who are not afraid of danger, and neither is looking for it but both absolutely find it. Both had dark pasts that defined them, although very different ones. But for me, that’s where the similarities end.
As a book lover, I enjoy Nikki’s book nerdiness, and the book clubs she holds in her store are right up my alley. Of course, what she does as a side job is another story altogether.

Pulses with daring and risk. Nikki Griffin, bookseller by day and private investigator by night, takes on men who hurt women and makes them sorry. Calm, complex, lethal, and fascinating, she’s the revenge fantasy you want right now (Taylor Stevens)
An ass-kicking book lover who likes to teach bad men a lesson. Mean, lean prose that evokes the noir greats but with a thoroughly modern, feminist twist.A propulsive plot that will keep you turning the pages. Seriously ― what’s not to like? Save Me From Dangerous Men is smart, darkly funny, and totally addictive. Don’t miss this thrilling debut! (Lisa Unger)
Nikki’s fight scenes are satisfying, clever, and exciting…Bookworms will love the references to classic novels, and Lelchuk winks at Nikki’s similarities to a certain well-known literary vigilante. A timely and totally badass debut. (Kirkus Reviews)

I’m almost finished with the book and don’t want it to end. Please write more. I really like that she is afraid of no man and can really handle herself in hard situations.
