Hi, my name is Scott, and while I love photography (hence my photo here), I’m also a major bookaholic. One must be, with over 1000 physical books at home, not to mention at least as many on my trusted iPad.
Since my favorite books (regardless of the genre) are those included in series, that’s what I’m reading most, and that’s what I know most about as well. Hence the name of the site I created, Books Reading Order.
While standalone novels are great, for me they are akin to watching movies vs. TV series. Movies full of drama, action, and a strong plot make me forget about the world around me for an hour or two. But a compelling TV show is much more in-depth, with plenty of space for character and relationship development. You can’t really develop the main characters over 1.5 hours.
Same with books. Once a book told its story, it is over. Done with. But if you really care about the characters you’ve just spent your last few hours with, then you crave a sequel, one that the adventures of said character(s) continue. And standalone novels don’t offer that. Hence my preference for reading books in a series.
As for the genres I love reading, crime, thriller, fantasy, sci-fi, and dystopian novels are my favorites, but I’ve been caught reading a good Christian fiction book or a historical adventure as well.
Reading books is my first passion in life, and this Books Reading Order is a natural extension of it. I am a real person behind the blog, but currently, I’m only a person, not a team of people, and not a company, so adding new authors, series, and books might take a bit of time.
That’s why I added on most pages a small box for entering your favorite author or series you’d like to see added to the site. Before typing in your favorite, do make sure that I haven’t already added it before by searching for the author’s name of the series in the search box at the top of this website.
I will try to fulfill your requests with new additions as fast as possible. Also, if I’ve just finished reading a great series, I will add the author here next while the stories are still fresh in my mind.
